Behind the Scenes
Watch the needle do the talking
Machine embroidery is equal parts craft and preparation. These clips from the studio show what actually happens between “quote accepted” and “order ready” — the framing, the backing and the stitching itself.
Basket of flowers — a stage prop in four parts
This design was embroidered in four separate parts for a play, where the actor was to be actively embroidering the design on stage. This is the completed version — another bespoke order in action. The finished panel took two hours to run.
Framing a sweater — where quality starts
Measuring the backing and cutting it to fit the frame before a garment is embroidered. Backing choice is crucial for a good quality finish — this is part of the set-up on every single order.
Why it matters
Set-up is half the stitch
Good embroidery starts before the needle moves: the right backing, measured and cut for the frame, matched to the fabric. It's invisible in the finished piece — and it's the reason our work still looks sharp after years of washing.
